1999 Video of Seibukan Kata: The Red, White and Blue Puzzle Mat Video were the first professional video produced of Hanshi Shimabukuro.

The iconic 1999 Kyan’s Karate Video DVD was produced by Dan Smith in Atlanta, Georgia USA. There were more than a dozen hours of video that was not included in the production of the first video of all Seibukan kata, kihon and kumite.

Over the next few months never been published video will be featured. The various side and back views of the kata and out takes of the details with foot work and postures provide great detail of Hanshi Shimabukuro’s techniques.

The kata presented here will give unique insights to the performances of the kata.

Kyan's Karate Video Series currently has over 90 video featuring Hanshi Zenpo Shimabukuro and Kyoshi Zenshun Shimabukuro. Hanshi Dan Smith provides detailed analysis. All of the Seibukan Shorin Ryu kata are presented in multidirectional views. The basic training methods are presented in a "how to" format. Kata "henti" are presented with narrated instruction. The goal of the Kyan video series is to present the body of knowledge of Kyan's Karate for the subscriber. New video are added monthly.

Kyan's Karate Video Series and Listening to Okinawa presents over 90 video with Hanshi Zenpo Shimabukuro, Kyoshi Zenshun Shimabukuro and Hanshi Dan Smith. The "Listening to Okinawa video" are based on Smith's 55 years of living and visiting Okinawa. "The Listening to Okinawa" video provide in-depth information gained by personal experiences and relationships forged over five decades on Okinawa.
